Science fiction is a possibility of science's future

The 2023 Chengdu World Science Fiction Convention was held from October 18-22, bringing together global sci-fi enthusiasts for the most prominent and influential sci-fi event in the world. The event featured over 200 forums and salons, covering topics like "Sci-fi and Literature," "Sci-fi and Art," "Sci-fi and Film," "Sci-fi and Technology," and more. Notable figures like Liu Cixin, Robert Sawyer, and Alexander Brandt shared insights.

In the opening forum, "Sci-fi Design Summit," experts discussed the intersection of sci-fi with digital, immersive curating, film, game design, and robotics. The idea of "Sci-fi is more than literature" emerged, expanding the boundaries of sci-fi to encompass art, architecture, and technology.

German artist and future designer Alexander Brandt introduced the concept of "Hard Sci-fi Immersive Education," merging sci-fi with education to spark youth interest in science and art. His works, including "AI Dream" and "Future Dream," aim to make science tangible through immersive experiences, offering young people not only knowledge but an active, heroic role in learning.

As Brandt stated, "The best education is creating the most exciting day of our lives." His "Hard Sci-fi Immersive Education" helps cultivate the next generation of scientists and innovators. The upcoming immersive experience "AI Dream" will open at Shanghai Tower this winter, marking a new chapter in sci-fi and education.
